The District: Can It Get Any Better?

We know you have taste and we raise our glasses to you.  But while typical wine menus may work on most days, sometimes they Bordeaux a Diva out of her mind. She needs something a sip above. Enter The District.

The District offers over 30 wines by the glass and an even fuller-bodied private reserve list. Ingredient-inspired plates are good to share (or hoard, depending on your mood) thanks to Chef Cino and his local suppliers of fodder and fare.

Featured artistry lined brick walls reminiscent of a New York loft are the perfect accent to bar seating that encircles a sleek ‘chandelier’ of wine glasses suspended under rustic rough-hewn beams. Not in the mood for a bar, per se? High-top tables preserve the privacy of friends catching up, and communal couches are perfect for cutie scouting.

So if you are meeting a girlfriend from the Peninsula, in need of a drink before hitting your box seats (CalTrain and Giants Stadium are just blocks away), or merely thirsting for the finest in terroir and technique, you know where to go.

With happy hour – tantalizing with $1 oysters by the half dozen – every day but Sunday, what’s not to lose?

I love, love, love District! The menu is amazingly delicious and pairs perfectly with their wines…just ask your servers for suggestions. The couch areas are great for a group of gal pals.

You’re so right: typical wine menus DO sometimes “Bordeaux a Diva…” (love that – so clever!!) I’d love to try The District…sounds like a great place!

If the District if as fun as the Diva’s report, I’ll drink to that!

OMG, who wrote this? They just KNOW me sooooo well! I can’t wait to go dance up top on some of those tables after I have my 30 glasses of wine — each glass a different type! I don’t know much about terroir, but I’ll certainly be the terror of the place when I show up – see if you can recognize me before I pass out face down in my pile of oysters! Cheers! A-Ma-Zing find, I <3<3<3 you Social Diva!

$1 oysters by the half dozen!? Sounds ideal for a night out for the girls but I know my husband would raise a glass to that! :) Thanks for the great sip! I mean “tip!”
