Madera brings the outside in.  Translation: you get breathtaking views of the Santa Cruz Mountains with your signature TGIF cocktail, though you may want to go with vino, since one of the world’s 400 credential advanced sommeliers made the wine list.  Local VC’s and i-Bankers abound, so expect your drinks to be bought for you.

Did we mention the walls are vertical slices of old Redwoods, and that both the resto and adjacent lounge spill out onto patios equipped with stuffed lounge chairs and heat lamps?  Don’t worry – the attentive staff knows you’re always cold, so they have fleece blankets for you, too.  Located at 2825 Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, 650/561-1540.
